Apple Announces iPhone 3G AC Power Adapter Recall

Today, Apple announced that it is voluntarily recalling the AC power adapter plug that originally came with the iPhone 3G sold in certain countries.  The power adapter, that plugs into the wall to allow the user to charge the iPhone, can break leaving the metal prongs stuck in the socket, creating a potential hazard.  No injuries have been reported, but using the power adapter could lead to a potential electrical shock.  iPhone 3G owners can get a replacement unit free of charge, by either returning it to a Apple retail store, or by signing up online and sending it in for a replacement.  Users are urged to not use the product in question until a replacement has been received.  For more information, visit the official site from Apple regarding the recall.
